Fight to save Green Day the Iguana’s life
A Cape Coral park’s main attraction is at risk of being euthanized if local groups and the city don’t act quickly.
Green Day the Iguana has lived in a cage at Rotary Park in Cape Coral since the city inherited him 10 years ago.
Pascha Donaldson is the president of the Cape Coral Friends of Wildlife, she said Green Day has been utilized as an educational tool for children and park visitors.
“They get to touch an actual iguana and to see how they behave and what they look like and what they feel like,” said Donaldson.
Donaldson said the FWC notified the city telling them Green Day could be at risk because his outdoor cage doesn’t comply with the FWC’s rules.
