Cape Coral Friends of Wildlife invites the community to attend its next General Meeting on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at 7:00 PM at Rotary Park Environmental Center.

This month’s featured speaker is Beverly Saltonstall, a founding member of CCFW and author of Cape Coral Burrowing Owls Don’t Hoot. She will share her extensive knowledge of burrowing owl behavior and habits, along with personal stories gathered over decades of firsthand experience in Cape Coral.

Attendees will learn more about these unique birds, including their role in the local ecosystem and why Cape Coral is home to the largest population of Florida burrowing owls. The presentation will also touch on ongoing conservation efforts and what residents can do to help protect this threatened species.

Saltonstall has dedicated more than 25 years to burrowing owl conservation and played a key role in founding CCFW. Her work has reached schools, community groups, and organizations across the region, helping raise awareness and support for these iconic birds.

Networking begins at 6:30 PM, with the presentation starting at 7:00 PM. All are welcome to attend.
