Saturday, February 28, 2026
7:00 AM – 11:00 AM
As part of Cape Coral Friends of Wildlife’s 24th Annual Burrowing Owl Festival, CCFW is offering a Birding Specialty Bus Tour featuring some of Southwest Florida’s most sought after birding locations.
Participants will ride in an air conditioned bus and enjoy expert guided birding and photography opportunities, with possible sightings including burrowing owls, bald eagles, purple martins, monk parakeets, eastern meadowlarks, loggerhead shrikes, and a variety of wading birds such as great blue herons. Rare surprises are always possible.
The tour is led by Master Birders Eary and Jennifer Warren, and Dave and Tammy McQuade, all highly respected birding experts and administrators of the Southwest Florida Bird Alert. Eary and Jennifer hold multiple Florida birding records, while David McQuade ranks among the top bird photographers in the United States with over 870 species photographed nationwide.
This four hour guided tour focuses on bird identification, behavior, and photography tips, making it ideal for birders and photographers of all experience levels.
The Birding Specialty Tour takes place Saturday, February 28, 2026, departing promptly at 6:45 AM from Rotary Park and returning around 11:00 AM. Advance registration is required and seating is limited.
Tickets are $70 per person and include entry to the Burrowing Owl Festival.
Proceeds support Cape Coral Friends of Wildlife’s mission to preserve wildlife habitat and educate the community about Cape Coral’s unique wildlife resources.
