Ground Owl Day February 2

In dedication to the late Mayor Joe Coviello,

Cape Coral Parks & Recreation and

Cape Coral Friends of Wildlife

invite you to celebrate

Ground Owl Day

Tuesday, February 2, 2021 10:00 a.m.

Pelican Baseball Complex

South East Corner Parking Field

A southern twist on "Groundhog Day," this annual event is in recognition of Cape Coral's official city bird, the burrowing owl (aka "Ground Owl"), who is expected to see his shadow, thus signaling six more weeks of beautiful "winter weather" in Cape Coral.

There will be a reading of the official proclamation and the Cape Coral Friends of Wildlife will have information about conservation efforts and the upcoming Burrowing Owl Festival, which will be held virtually this year.

"Athene," the CCFW mascot will also be on hand for photo opportunities. Social distancing measures will be in place and those attending are being asked to wear a face covering over their mouth and nose.

For more information call 239-549-4606.
